Sabra Guacamole
So, here's my quick review of Sabra guacamole. It's prepackaged guacamole, so you pretty much expect it to be some of the worst guacamole you'll ever have, and in that respect, it does not disappoint. It's kind of expensive, especially for the amount you get, but that's kind of the same for all Sabra products. I mean, hummus is basically pureed chickpeas, and they charge 4 bucks for a small container of that.
I had a coupon though, so I bought the guacamole, but that's not an excuse, because I already tried it a month ago when I got a free one for buying two containers of hummus, so I knew what I was getting into. The weird thing is, avocados start turning brown from pretty much the moment you cut into them, so I don't even want to think of the amount of chemicals and preservatives that go into giving this stuff a shelf life.
The real question I should be asking myself is: why did I buy it again? Do I have that little respect for myself, and for the Mexican food industry that is at least responsible for some decent guacamole now and then? Am I too lazy to just make my own guacamole, which is far superior and less expensive?
Well, of course I am. I might as well start making my own hummus, and that's not going to happen.
What happened to me? When did I get so lazy and start lowering my standards on foods made up of mashed up vegetables? I know, avocados and chick peas are most likely not even vegetables, but if I'm not going to make my own food, I'm not going to start looking up facts about what phylum specific plants fall into. I just worry that I'm letting too much slide these days. Today it's gaucamole, soon I'll be one of those guys who eats nothing but trays of Swanson frozen lasagne, and sits on the couch eating a bunch of off brand mixed bar snacks that come in the big two gallon size plastic jars, and trail mix with bogus "m&m style chocolate flavored candies" in them. People will point to this moment in my life and say that's where it all started going down hill.
So what was I talking about here? Oh yeah, Sabra guacamole. It's not good, but buy it if it's on sale and you're hungry for guacamole, but too lazy to make it, and make sure no one will see you eat it so you won't feel ashamed. Like I did, but unlike me, don't write a pathetic, rambling review on social media admitting it anyway.
Next time, I'll review autocomplete, which if I left it up to that, this would have been a weird review about glaucoma. Also, I'll probably review glaucoma, because I'm not getting any younger, and obviously my eating habits aren't helping. See you then! Maybe...
